Roll With It

Good morning and a VERY Happy Friday to you!

Normally my weekends are filled with fun and laundry, so I don't see why this one should be any different!

Tonight is the Easton Corbin concert at Joe's Bar in Chicago. I am going to enjoy Ken's grand prize for winning Employee of the Quarter! My favorite song by Mr. Corbin is Roll With It

Saturday (after completing my KenpoX) I will be heading out to the lovely Davis Junction, IL. I really enjoy going out there because Kooter really gets a chance to run out all of the energy he has built up throughout the week. My goal for Monday is to have him be so tired that he just sleeps all next week. This way he doesn't get mad at me for locking him up! Ha ha.

I have the best intentions to clean and get caught up on laundry and dishes this Sunday... But since that probably won't happen... I want to go to Olde North Pancake House (on route 64 and St. Charles Rd.) eat myself into a food coma and sleep all day!

Sometimes I wish there was a place you could go to like the places in the movie Inception. Where they just put you into the deepest sleep possible for hours on end. Even though that movie is crazy, if the opportunity presented itself to me, I don't think I could decline! Ha ha.

Since today is Veterans Day, I would like to make a shout out to everyone who is serving or has served for this country! Without you guys, the country that we all know and love would not be the same. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart!

Lets move some freight today! HOTSHOTS HOTSHOTS HOTSHOTS!
I am all hopped up on a 5hour energy so BRING IT ON!!!! :-)

Happy Veterans Day!

There’s been a lot of hype recently in the media about today. Different people have a variety of interpretations. There are those that think 11/11/11 is a lucky number and reacting with buying lottery tickets, going to Vegas, throwing parties etc. Numerologists are getting a lot of attention and don’t forget the horror movie that is coming out. For me, although it is certainly an interesting numeric event, this date of remembrance is for all those veterans who had served to protect us, to give us the freedom to live our lives as we know it, even to do those silly things mentioned above. Today I just wanted to say thank you for those that have served. I pray that blessings be poured over our veterans and their families. Have a day!

Happy Monday!

  • This one is for those unfortunate souls that have to go with their wives to the mall when you don’t have the justification of watching your favorite football team on a Sunday afternoon because they are playing on Monday night. Gentlemen, if you find yourself tricked into being a human clothes rack in your wife’s favorite clothing store while she is armed with a handful of coupons during a major sale, here are a few tricks I’ve learned to keep yourself preoccupied.

  • Try and guess the names of all the sales associates you come across in the store. When you guess wrong, disagree with the associate and tell them what it really is.

  • Position yourself to be within earshot of your wife and still get enough cell phone reception to have ESPN’s game tracker going.

  • Seek out other guys stuck in the same situation, there is safety in numbers.
Go to the intimate apparel section, point at a manikin wearing some unmentionables, and ask the saleslady if they have it your size.

  • Wander around the racks and continue to say loudly “Marco!” over and over again until somebody responds with “Polo!”

  • Go into a dressing room and confess your sins to the person in the stall next to you.
Hand a stack of pants back to the dressing room attendant and scornfully announce that none of them are "leakproof."

You will either be entertained through this whole process or your wife may never ask you to go with her again.

Hockey Fight!

Even though the Black Hawks got their butts kicked last night, I still think it was a great game! Not only are you watching your favorite team play, but the crowd there adds to the excitement. Everyone there is not afraid to get a little rowdy. And I love watching the other team getting creamed in a hockey fight! There were multiple last night, and I so wish I had seats right up by the glass so I could see it first hand!... Maybe even contribute by pounding on the glass! ha ha.

I went with some of my favorite people, so I knew it was going to be a great night no matter what! P.S.: Jenica is absolutely adorable!!

Saturday night, one of our very own got married! Even though we were there to congratulate Katlyn and celebrate with her on her special day, a lot was learned that night about all of my fellow co-workers.

We have a few dancing machines over here! Our operations team (Ken, Dave, Al, Tony, and Don) were dancing nonstop! Dave was doing the worm (extremely well) and some Irish Jig dancing, Ken was line dancing, and Al was doing a little moshing! It was probably the funniest thing I have ever seen in my life.

In the last year K&L has been adding more and more tractor trailers to our fleet. We have done this due to the high demand for Local and Domestic Full Truckloads. We want to make sure that we can give our customers the option to use us for any of their shipping needs. We want to serve every customer, large or small, with the best service possible.

Plus, I think we are a lot of fun to work with! ha ha.

Let's have a great week!
